If you’ve spent any time in Keller or the surrounding area, chances are you’ve seen the work of Megan Leigh Najera—or at least felt the kind of peace her art is meant to inspire. Megan, the heart and soul behind MLNart, creates surreal, nature-inspired pieces that don’t just decorate a wall—they tell a story and invite you to pause, breathe, and connect.
From Doodles to Dreams
Megan has always been an artist at heart. “I was the girl getting in trouble for doodling in the margin of her tests and picking up flowers everywhere I went,” she says. Her connection with nature runs deep, and over time, it became the foundation of her art.
After having her son right out of high school, Megan knew the traditional 9-5 path wasn’t for her. She needed a way to support her family while staying true to her creative spirit. What started as selling custom paintings and showing up at any art show she could find eventually grew into a full-fledged career.

The Heart of MLNart
At the core of Megan’s work is the belief that nature is medicine. Her art is meant to bring moments of relief, peace, and resonance to people navigating life and mental health—something she understands firsthand. “Sometimes it feels like my work doesn’t really fit anywhere,” she admits, “but I think that’s also why people connect with it.”
Her murals and public art pieces are especially important to her, because they’re shared in spaces where anyone can experience that feeling of calm or wonder, even in passing.
A Positive Impact in the Community
Megan hopes her work sparks those small but powerful moments of connection. “If more people can have more of those types of moments,” she says, “I truly believe we can all be better as a community.”
She’s also grateful for the way her career gives her the flexibility to fully show up for her family—whether that’s being there for her son’s field day or supporting her fiancé at a screenwriting event.
Featured in local businesses, Meghan’s art can be seen in Patty Lou’s Tea Room in Keller, TX.

Challenges and Lessons Learned
Like many small business owners, Megan’s path hasn’t been easy. As a single mom for much of her early career, she missed out on opportunities that required frequent travel or big investments of time. Even now, while other muralists may hop from city to city, Megan prioritizes staying rooted in her community and her family. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Advice for Aspiring Artists
Her advice to other local artists and entrepreneurs? Put yourself out there. “I promise that someone out there needs the exact type of work you’re creating, but they will never find you if you don’t share it,” Megan says.

Supporting MLNart
One of the best ways to support Megan is by recommending her to local businesses, developers, and shop owners. Murals often get planned in the early stages of a build or renovation, so the sooner her name is in the mix, the better.
She also sells her own canvases and prints (with free shipping!), and she has a second coloring book launching before Christmas—a follow-up to her first release, There Is Always A Reason To Color.

Where Megan Loves to Kick It
When she’s not creating, you can find Megan and her son at Keller Pointe swimming, hanging out at Sunmed on Main Street, or enjoying live music at Keller Tavern.
What’s Next
Looking ahead, Megan is especially excited to collaborate with local florists, plant shops, and coffee shops—places where her nature-inspired work feels right at home. With her upcoming coloring book and new ethereal canvas prints, she’s continuing to make art accessible and meaningful for everyone.
