A look back at our first night on Bates Street, with two more Friday nights to put on your fall calendar.
The first Depot Nights on Bates brought the community to Bates Street Park on Friday, September 25, 2026. Local businesses had a chance to introduce themselves, families came out to explore, and we got to meet people from well beyond our own neighborhood.
Keller, Trophy Club, Roanoke, Argyle and even Farmers Branch came up in our conversations that night. Some people were discovering a vendor for the first time. Others were getting to know a little more of Old Town Keller. Together, you gave this new gathering its first chapter.
If you were there, take a look back with us. If you missed it, consider this your invitation to the next one.
A Little Look at the Night
Meet the People Behind the Pop Ups
It’s worth taking a minute to meet the people behind the table. At Depot Nights, we had the chance to hear from the vendors themselves and see what you were taking home.
Little Miss Sourdough Treats had quite a first night. She sold out, sent her husband home for the inventory she had baked for another event that weekend, and sold out again. Two rounds of baking found their way home with our guests. That is a pretty good reason to get back in the kitchen!
At Punky Doodle, Hannah brought homemade treats, salted caramel sauces and crisps. Her pumpkin breads were already gone by the time we stopped for an interview. If fall flavors are your thing, you can understand why that table deserved a stop.

Stephens Sweet Shoppe brought the candy, and Jason and Tina told us it was their busiest night on Bates Street yet. Their interview is another chance to meet the people behind a local business and hear what the evening looked like from their side of the table.

Keep the Local Love Going
An evening like this gives you a starting point. Find a business you love, follow along with what they are doing, and remember them the next time you need a gift or something good to bring home. Tell a friend about the vendor you met. Share a photo and tag the business so someone else can find them, too.
That is a big part of why we share these stories at Kickin’ It Local. There are people doing creative, thoughtful work right here around us. Getting to know them makes supporting local a little more personal.
Come Kick It on Bates This Fall
Ready for another night in Old Town? There are two more dates to save:
- Friday, October 23, 2026: Depot Nights on Bates, 6–9 p.m., with live music by Brandon McLaughlin starting at 7 p.m.
- Friday, November 27, 2026: Depot Nights on Bates Black Friday Market, 6–9 p.m.
Both events take place at Bates Street Park in Old Town Keller. Bring the family, meet a friend, or make it a casual date night. Give yourself time to browse, meet the businesses and enjoy an evening close to home.
Keep the November date handy as holiday shopping gets underway. The Black Friday Market is a chance to make a local night out part of Thanksgiving weekend.
Visit the Depot Nights on Bates event page for current details and updates.
Thank you to the vendors and everyone who came out for the first night. You helped get this started. Let’s keep showing up for the people and places that make our community feel like home.
See you on Bates!
